Idle hands are the devil’s playthings! so getting my hands dirty busy is good…

I’m L. B.
I’m a Texan-born Libyan-American college student
and I like to be productive
I primarily dabble in three realms: food, fabric and photography. I may or may not justify bouts of procrastination (school work? bah..) by the fact that I have something to show for my (mis-)spent time.
Here are the basics:
Food: I bake, primarily, and then cook. have an affinity for chopping knives. my heart lies in the oven. I’m the primary dinner-maker around here. if you live near me, come eat with us.

Fabric: I like a good manicure as much as the next girl, but my hands are more often tinted shades of green than my nails are neatly polished. Tie-dyeing has become one of my favorite activities to share with friends since I first learned how a several years ago.

I’ve dyed t-shirts, dresses, pants, an Italian linen suit and infant onesies.
I use Fiber Reactive dye from Dharma Trading Co. (ordered online), or from Jacquard (found in stores) if I need refills in a hurry. I’m also finding my way about the world of clothing & accessory sewing.

Photography: I’m a Nikon girl, digitally speaking. My passion is for photojournalism and documenting (improving!) the human situation.
I have a love for film, too, when I’m not indulging in the instant pleasure and practicality of digital photo, and then, I use a Canon AE-1 or and AE-1 Program. #bipartisan.

For visual treats, keep track of what my eyes have seen here: and here: I am available for freelance work. Inquire within.

Have you tried one of my recipes or tutorials?
Do have know of a better way to do something? Let me know!
Sharing is caring! Leave me a comment or two and share your thoughts!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I’ll be back; won’t you too?

You’ve got some amazing recipes compiled here (I’ve made the citrus-chocolate cake too many times to count) and I really enjoy your semi-humorous, semi-serious writing style. I’ve nominated you for the ‘Sunshine Award’! Check out the rules on my nomination blog post (, and keep on being “productive”! 😉
